The threats to our clean water is impacting the human and marine environments. Despite having a lot of water, it still remains a precious resource for the human population. The technology we use is to clean the water we drink everyday. If we didn't have that technology, we would have so much deadly bacteria in our water. However, our technology can backfire on us as well. We could also endanger many marine animal's lives by contaminating the water with the oil. Two articles were published about this matter. "Access to Safe Water: A paradox in developed nations," talks about the technology we currently use to provide ourselves with clean, fresh water. They say water is a necessity and that educating the public can lead to better water management and other positive practices. "Oil Pollution in the Marine Environment: Inputs, Big Spills, Small Spills, and Dribbles," talks about how oil spills affect the marine environment. The author talks about the different types of oil inputs and compares them to each other. In the end the author says we must,"…adequately address the impacts of oil on the marine environment." In other words, we must expand our knowledge of the problem in order to correctly identify it.
I chose to talk about this article because it seemed interesting to me. It seemed interesting to me because we knew that there were threats to our drinking water for a long time. But who would have thought that the technology we are using to clean our drinking water is affecting the marine life by so much. Like it shows in the picture above, some of the water that people drink is dirty. Drinking dirty water is hazardous, it could kill you. That's why we must find better ways to clean the water so that everyone can have clean drinking water. No one will have to the VERY dirty water on the left side of the picture or even the dirty water in the middle. Everyone can have clean drinking water, like the clean drinking water on the right side of the picture. That is what is happening in this article.
Sometimes you wonder what would happen if we just let it be. What if we left the problem there and let the drinking water stay dirty? I'll tell you what will happen. This is what will happen. If we had let it happen, we would all die. We need water to survive, so we always clean it so we don't get hurt. If the water was dirty, we couldn't drink it. Either that, or you can risk almost getting killed. That's why we need to find better ways to clean the water and let everyone drink it. Well, it looks like I'm all done with my ScraMS. Now I can go back to some other things I need to get done. Thank you for always reading my articles and I hope to see you reading the ones I make in the future. I'll see you later. Peace!
